Find welcoming families, accompany foreign students to the library, to administration, help with administrative steps, school support, drafting of official documents, take part in the organization welcome activities and orientation visits :
Welcome event :
During the month of September, we gather all of the new foreign students who have arrived in France and the volunteers help us to animate this event (welcome the foreign students, visit important places in the capital).
Show the foreign students the strategic locations for their life as students such as the Cité Universitaire,the libraries, the Crous (housing and meals), the areas to go to on the weekend and at night (Les Halles, Bastille, Mouffetard district) but also how to use common transportation, how to open a bank account, how to obtain a phone line.
Animation
Organize and prepare activities: parties, visits, movie debates, "friendship café", linguistic conversation workshops. You can organize a project from the beginning to the end or during the project.
Begin a project of solidarity, of citizenship in partnership with different associations or NGOs (non governmental associations) .
For example, during the earthquake tragedy in Asia, the International Club together with many student associations and 5 NGOs (Action Against Hunger, Red Cross, ORT, Aid and Action, Unicef) decided to mobilize and contribute to the vast movement of international solidarity by :
- Collection of fonds by faculties and students
- Creation of posters to inform the public
- Sensitizing of the public
- Organization of various events caritatifs for students
Advertise the association to foreign students at your school, your university in France and abroad. If you are a foreign or French student who is going to study abroad, help us advertise the association in your university or school's international exchange office in your home country. The goal is to advertise the association to foreign students before arriving in France.
Make a presentation to the university or in the shool. Put up posters in France and abroad. Present the International CLub to other countries during your stay or in your home country.
Search for cultural events: exhibitions, districts of Paris, museums, movie debates, themes parties as well as the areas. Actually, these are all of the actions which we do in order to prepare for activities and thereafter you can organize them if you would like.
Whatever the time may be, the improtant thing is to be regular in your action.
Volunteering is enriching, it will allow you to :
- participate more actively in society
- fell useful
- network
- gain professional experience in the work environment
- bring your knowledge up to date
You will receive much more than you will give.
